Work Permits
A work permit is required before anyone under the age of 16 is allowed to work with the exception of agriculture or domestic service work.
Starting July 1st of 2023, our office will no longer be able to create work permits for youth as the permissions will only be granted to the youth’s parent/guardian. Work Permits can be created online using the following link: https://dwd.wisconsin.gov/er/laborstandards/workpermit/workpermitsteps.htm If you encounter difficulties creating the work permit, please contact us at YJC@briarpatch.org and we will do our best to assist you.
If you do not have access to a computer or internet and are therefor unable to make the work permit online, please contact us to schedule a time to come in to Briarpatch and use one of our community computers. Here, we can also assist you in printing the work permit. If you do not schedule an appointment, we can not guarantee somebody will be able to assist you. Please email YJC@briarpatch.org or call ahead at (608)245-2550 ext. 1341 to create an appointment.
